The data shows that there is already an epidemic trend of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection outbreak in the city, and the epidemic is expected to last for one to two years.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae is one of the important pathogens of respiratory tract infections in children, with symptoms similar to those of other pneumonias, and a long-term and severe cough, but the treatment is completely different. Severe infection can cause neurological and cardiovascular complications, and in severe cases, it can lead to death. Sun Hongmei, director of the Bacteriological Research Office of the Capital Institute of Pediatrics, told

"From May 15 years onwards, an increase in Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection was detected, reaching more than 30% of patients tested.By December of '15, it had increased to 56.2%. Mycoplasma pneumoniae accounts for a high proportion of patients with respiratory diseases. Therefore, it is believed that there is a possibility of an epidemic. ”

According to Sun Hongmei, Mycoplasma pneumoniae is endemic every 3-7 years, and the annual incidence rate at the peak of the epidemic can reach 30-50%. The epidemic period is 1-2 years, and the main infected groups are children and young adults, and the onset can last for several months if not treated in time.

The main clinical symptoms are fever, cough, and whooping cough. It is difficult to distinguish between clinical symptoms, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by monitoring the pathogen, antibodies, and nucleic acids. For example, if you have two or three respiratory infections within a month, you should think about monitoring for Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

At present, the treatment of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is mainly azithromycin and clarithromycin.If treatment is not complete, recurrent infections can occur. The doctor advises the patient to cooperate throughout the treatment course.

Sun Hongmei introduced that this germ is very sensitive to soap and disinfectant, and it is recommended that parents and children wash their hands more during the epidemic season; Pay attention to good ventilation and stay out of the company with infected children. In particular, many young mothers take care of their children and become infected themselves.
